MyWorks supports the ability to set a different Class or Department in orders based on the Shopify Customer Segment that the order's customer is present in, making it very easy to report on sales by customer “grouping” in QuickBooks!

Setting up

This can be easily enabled in MyWorks Sync > Settings > Order in your Shopify Admin.

  1. Enable the setting to Map Shopify Customer Segments to a QuickBooks Class/Location .
  2. Choose the desired QuickBooks class and/or department to be used for each Shopify Customer Segment.

Excluding Customer Segments

In some cases, we'll see additional customer segments present in Shopify that don't apply to the above settings/logic you're trying to implement: and introduce a scenario where a customer may be in more than one segment at a time, making the above mapping tricky.

However, this is easy to manage with MyWorks, as below, you can simply “exclude” segments that we shouldn't follow in the above mappings.

So, for example, if you have segments you use for marketing, like “US Customers” or “UK Customers”, those can be excluded below if you're wanting MyWorks to follow the mapping for other segments like Amazon or Wholesale orders.
