MyWorks Sync offers seamless integration between Shopify and QuickBooks, including syncing orders from Shopify POS to QuickBooks for accounting and financial management. This article provides a helpful guide when syncing Shopify POS orders to QuickBooks and highlights best practices to ensure smooth synchronization.
Syncing Shopify POS Orders to QuickBooks
By default, MyWorks sync Shopify POS orders normally into your QuickBooks company - just like other online orders placed through Shopify. When an order is placed through Shopify POS, MyWorks Sync will send the relevant order data to QuickBooks for accurate accounting and inventory tracking.
Syncing Shopify POS Orders to a single customer
For regular, online orders in Shopify, MyWorks will sync each order to its own corresponding customer in QuickBooks. However, we'll commonly see that many orders from Shopify POS have no customer information associated with them, as they're for in-person, walk-in orders.
In cases like this, it's very simple to still sync these to QuickBooks - to a single customer. This can be enabled in MyWorks Sync > Settings > Order, in the customer options area, as shown in the below example. This setting to sync all orders to one QuickBooks customer will also show any custom Segments you have created for your Shopify customers; and each segment can be set separately: either syncing to “Individual” customers in QuickBooks - or to a single QuickBooks customer you can select.
In this specific case, the important setting is the last option - for “Other (not a customer)”. This applies to any Shopify orders that have no customer information - and in this example, is set to a single QuickBooks customer named “Shopify Sales”.
