MyWorks Sync supports syncing orders containing discounts/coupon codes into QuickBooks Desktop in several different ways - all controlled within MyWorks Sync > Settings > Order in our sync on your site.

Syncing Discounts as a single negative line item:

By default, MyWorks Sync would sync any discounts on a WooCommerce order as a single negative line item in the QuickBooks order.

The QuickBooks product we would use in this case for that discount line item on the QuickBooks transaction would be the QuickBooks Item set in MyWorks Sync > Default QuickBooks Discount Item.

This would show in QuickBooks like the following example.

Mapping individual coupon codes:

If you use coupon codes in your WooCommerce store, you can easily map your coupon code products in WooCommerce to different QuickBooks Discount items (instead of using the default Discount Item above) - by visiting MyWorks Sync > Map > Coupon Codes in our sync on your site.

Syncing Discounts within the original product line item:

Alternatively, MyWorks can sync discounts within the original line item instead of as a separate line item. For example, if the item in WooCommerce is $10, with a 20% discount bringing it to $8, we'd sync it as a single $8 line item in QuickBooks.

This setting can be enabled in MyWorks Sync > Settings > Order: Sync Order discounts within the original product line item.

This would show in QuickBooks like the following example.

Syncing Discounts in a separate line for each item:

MyWorks is also able to sync discounts to QuickBooks using the original line item - but in separate line items, so the discount can be more specifically tracked in QuickBooks for reporting. This means we would not make use of the Default Discount Item set in MyWorks Sync > Settings > Default > Default Discount Line Item but rather the QuickBooks item that was ordered.

This setting can be enabled in MyWorks Sync > Settings > Order: Sync discount in separate line item per product - using the original QuickBooks item.

This would show in QuickBooks like the following example.
