Stock alerts by Slack and email

Get notified when products sell out or run low - instant out-of-stock alerts and scheduled low-stock and reorder digests, by Slack and email, with vendor and tag filters.

Stockroom can tell you the moment something sells out, and send you a regular digest of what is running low - by Slack, email, or both. Set it up on the Alerts page.

Alert types

  • Out of stock - instant: a message the moment items sell out. Items that sell out together in one action arrive as a single message.

  • Low stock digest: everything at or below its low stock level, on your schedule.

  • Reorder point digest: everything at or below its reorder point, so the next PO practically writes itself. Products marked "exclude from reorder" are skipped.

Turn each on independently, and choose Email, Slack, or both per type.

Connect Slack

In the Slack channel section, click Add to Slack. Slack opens in a new browser tab (it cannot run inside the embedded app) - pick a channel and approve, then return to Stockroom. Once connected you will see the channel it posts to, plus Send test and Disconnect. Stockroom only uses an incoming webhook to post messages; it never reads your Slack.

Set your schedule

For the two digest types, choose a Frequency (Daily, Weekly, or Monthly) and a Send at hour. Weekly digests send on Monday, monthly on the 1st. Times are in your store's own timezone. If both digests share a schedule, they arrive as one combined message with a section each. Items that crossed the threshold since the last digest are marked as new and sorted first.

Who gets alerts, and for what

In the Delivery section:

  • Email recipients - comma-separated; leave empty to use your store email. Multiple recipients are supported.

  • Filters that apply to every alert type: Only these vendors, Exclude vendors, Only these tags, Exclude tags. Leave them empty to cover your whole catalog.

Click Save when you are done.

Good to know

  • Only genuine sell-outs trigger instant alerts - a newly-added product arriving at zero will not spam you.

  • Alerts fire on the stock levels you have saved. Set low stock and reorder points on your products (or apply suggestions) to get the most from digests.

  • If Slack ever stops accepting messages (for example the app was removed from a channel), Stockroom flags it so you can reconnect.
