QuickBooks Online contains two fields that can be quite helpful to use to better report on / categorize orders synced from Shopify:

  • Class
  • Location (can also be named Department, Territory, or another name in your QuickBooks Settings)

MyWorks supports the ability to set a different Class or Department in orders based on the Shopify Channel that the order came from, making it very easy to report on these separately in QuickBooks!

Setting up

This can be easily enabled in MyWorks Sync > Settings > Order in your Shopify Admin.

  1. Enable the setting to Map Shopify Order Channels to a QuickBooks Class/Location .
  2. In the area that appears below, you'll see one option for each Channel connected to your Shopify store - including the default channels of Online Store and POS, as well as a fallback option of “Other” for any order that doesn't fall under one of the channels shown.
  3. Choose the desired QuickBooks class and/or department to be used for each Shopify Channel.
