When selling on additional marketplaces outside of your Shopify store - like Meta, or the Shop app; orders may be charged sales tax by the marketplace; meaning the order is taxed; but you're not responsible for filing or paying the sales tax - since the marketplace withholds this tax from the order payout sent to you, as they file/pay the sales tax on their end.

In some cases, the order is imported into Shopify with no sales tax - and is then synced normally/correctly into QuickBooks by MyWorks.

However, in other cases, the order is brought into Shopify by the marketplace with sales tax. MyWorks helps spot these cases, and for Shopify orders that contain “Marketplace Sales Tax”, we'll sync those orders into QuickBooks without the tax - helping ensure you're not over-reporting the tax you are responsible for collecting/paying in QuickBooks.

This happens automatically in MyWorks, and there's no additional action necessary.
