Ask Sidekick about your inventory

Ask Shopify's Sidekick assistant about your purchase orders, incoming stock, suppliers, and receipts - answered straight from Stockroom.

Stockroom connects to Shopify's Sidekick assistant, so you can ask about your purchasing and incoming stock in plain language and get answers straight from Stockroom - without opening the app.

What you can ask

Sidekick can answer questions like:

  • "What is on order?" or "What POs are overdue?"

  • "When will {product} be back in stock?" (incoming units on open POs)

  • "How much did we spend with {supplier} this quarter?"

  • "Show me recent receipts."

  • Details on a specific PO by its number, or a supplier's contact info, terms, and lead time.

Just ask Sidekick in Shopify admin - it pulls the answer from your Stockroom data.

Good to know

  • Sidekick reads your Stockroom data; it cannot change anything. To create or edit a purchase order, head to the Purchase orders page.

  • Amounts are shown in each PO's own currency and never blended across currencies.

  • On-hand stock levels live in Shopify (Products, then Inventory); Stockroom's answers cover what is on order, incoming, received, and your suppliers.
