In the Daily Summary that MyWorks syncs to QuickBooks for Shopify orders that are placed and paid at the same time; MyWorks also supports correctly recording the Accounts Receivable (A/R) activities for two other scenarios:
Orders placed today, but not yet paid;
Orders placed previously, and paid today.
In both of the above scenarios, either sales income (but no payment) needs to be recorded; or a payment (but no sales income).
The desired A/R account can be easily set by visiting MyWorks Sync > Settings > Order, as shown below.
MyWorks also requires a customer to be present in QuickBooks with โShopifyโ in the customer name, to use in the Journal Entry in QuickBooks.
MyWorks correctly handles these scenarios in the Daily Summary by adjusting your Accounts Receivable in QuickBooks accordingly:
Orders placed today, but not yet paid, will have their sales correctly recorded to the appropriate income accounts, and the balance debited to Accounts Receivable.
Orders placed on previous days, but paid today, will have their payment correctly recorded to the corresponding bank account in QuickBooks, and credit the Accounts Receivable by that amount.
